World's Scariest Pedestrian Bridge in Malaysia

SOCIALIZE IT ?

Langkawi Sky Bridge is a 125 metres (410 ft) curved pedestrian cable-stayed bridge in Malaysia, completed in 2005. It is located 700 metres (2,300 ft) above sea level at the peak of Gunung Mat Chinchang on Pulau Langkawi, an island in the Langkawi archipelago in Kedah. (source: Wikipedia)

You will have to take cable car to get to the bridge which located basically at the top of the mountain. The bridge was constructed on the ground and lifted up by helicopters.  It is in fact one of the highest elevated single-stay bridge in the world with the path less than 6 feet wide.

The bridge remained closed for maintenance until further notice but the cable car is still open.  The closure was originally planned until October 2013 so it makes us wonder there may be some problem with the construction of the bridge.

It's great to know that Langkawi is full of other attractions beside the bridge.  You can spend a day at the Oriental Village near by which features art gallery, animal exhibits, souvenir shops surrounding a huge lake in the center.  There are ocean front hotels and resorts in Lankawi known to be the home of most beautiful beaches in Malaysia.

Also, Telaga Tujuh Waterfalls is one of the natural wonders many visit during a trip to Langkawi Malaysia encompassing more than 90 meters of cascading water.
