A Hidden Gem in Central Vietnam - Da Nang

SOCIALIZE IT ?

Da Nang is the largest city of Central Vietnam, and the third largest in the country.  The city is renowned for beautiful beaches but there are much more than just the beach here.

Cao Dai temple and Marvel Mountain is just a few of the top destination in the area.  The temple for instance is one of the largest historic structure in Vietnam, and serves about 50,000 followers in the region.  Prayers are held four times everyday.

There are some great options for eating, drinking and other night outing activities in the city where streets alongside the river is filled with outdoor cafes.  The government has apparently made a great deal of investment in Da Nang, hoping to develop the city as one of the top destination in the country.

Non Nuoc Beach

It runs for 5 km along the Marble Mountain in Da Nang. It is bordered by Dien Ngoc Sea to the south and Da Nang to the north.

The beach gently slopes towards the calm, clear and blue ocean; the clarity of the water attracts people who come to swim and enjoy the seafood.
The area is famous for seaweed, which is exported internationally. Many five-star hotels have been built in Non Nuoc to accommodate both domestic and foreign tourists.

Cham Museum

The Cham museum is located at the intersection of Trung Nu Vuong and Bach Dang streets in Danang. It was built in 1915 with financial support from the French Far-East Research Institute in Vietnam, and opened to the public in 1919.

This museum owns the most extensive collection of Cham art in the world. In the past, the capital of the Champa nation was located in present-day Danang.  The collection was initially started by French archaeologists and experts.

Even though some of the artifacts were sent to Paris and other museums, more than 300 interesting sculptural statues and bas-reliefs of the ancient Champa Kingdom are displayed in this special museum.

Marvel Mountain

Marble Mountain (Ngũ Hành Sơn: Five Element Mountain) is a cluster of five mountains each representing an element that makes up the universe according to the ancient belief.

Kim Son (Metal Mountain), Thuy Son (Water Mountain), Moc Son (Wood Mountain), Hoa Son (Fire Mountain) and Tho Son (Earth Mountain) all feature cave entrance and numerous tunnels.

The place is of spiritual importance to the locals and can be quite crowded on weekends and some holidays
